I have very, very blond eyelashes and eyebrows. I have considered getting my eyelashes dyed black. I've been told that it's safe and that it lasts about two to three months.

Is it safe? Has anyone out there had any complications with getting their eyelashes dyed? Will I need to get my eyelashes dyed more frequently to prevent my blonde roots from showing through? How can I tell if the makeup artist is skilled and experienced at eyelash dying?

Thanks very much!!

It is technically called an eyelash/eyebrow TINT and is performed by an esthetician, with a state license. I have mine done by my sister who is an esthecian that waxes my eyebrows.

I would ask your friends for referrals. Or if you get your eyebrows waxed somewhere, ask them. In any case, the process is totally safe. I would book the appointment at a repuitable salon and have no worries!

This is absolutely crazy that people claim this is so dangerous! If it were dangerous, no salon would offer it!!

I am also a pale blonde. Do NOT ever dye your eyelashes. You can go blind AND the dye can also make your eyelashes fall out. Once your eyelashes begin to grow, you will look silly with part blonde part black eyelashes. Do NOT ever dye your eyebrows either. When they grow out, you'll look like a zebra. Just use a good eyeliner/mascara/eyeshadow combo for those lashes and use a brow pencil or brow powder for those brows. Blonde is beautiful!

No, it's not safe and unless you're talking tattoo (eyeliner) there is no reputable person that would dye your eye lashes. If you're that blonde (I am) and dye your eyebrows it will take days to get the dye off your skin. Buy some Maybelline mascara, there is nothing better on the market at any price.

yes, as long as you go to a legit salon that has certified employees.. trust me.. i have many clients that want that done.. im an eyelash specialist.. i dye eyelashes.. do eyelash extensions, perms.. etc. just look around ask for license, etc. and ask how its done how long theyve been doing it.. and just a note.. make artist usually arent the ones that do it.. you have to go to a cosmetologist or an esthatician ...good luck

If done by a well-trained and highly experienced esthetician or hair colorist who knows what she's doing, it's absolutely fine...

I read few things that one should know if dyeing lashes for the first time, here read it http://tinyurl.com/oonstao

I have dyed mine but they last only a few days. Not worth it.
