The maximum allowable weight per checked baggage is 50 pounds apiece and you are allowed two checked pieces. Any overweight in either piece is $25US for 1 to 20 pounds over.

You are also allowed one carry-on and I small personal items bag. Bear in mind though with the new security measures in place, no liquid, cream, scissors and a few other items are not permitted in carry-on. You may consider repacking to put only a few clothing pieces as carry-on and everything else that you think will be disallowed into your checked baggage.

Oh another piece of advise: the customs in Jamaica do a search of baggage when you clear your baggage. If you are taking any small electronics tell them it's for personal use and you are returning to ATL with it because their customs fees are a rip-off.

Good luck! Have fun in JA! I flew from ATL in July to JA too and I paid the overweight I mentioned above. My trip in JA was a blast!

Usually international flight could carry 2 bags of 23 kg each on one ticket. You could also carry a hand bag approximately 5-8 kg. Please note liquids are not allowed in your handbags anymore.
The best way is to make a list of your question and call your ticket agent. He should answer all of them. If he doesn't don't buy ticket from him anymore.

OR
Go to Air Jamaica website at www.airjamaica.com and go to baggage info
pretty simple, huh?
