i might want to assert The devil's Rejects might want to wonder maximum. it truly is classic Rob Zombie humour even if the violence/gore etc are particularly heavy going. for sure there are the more beneficial mainstream Hostel and said video clips if you're looking for the blood and wince ingredient. And the scariest might want to remember on what type. for instance The Strangers for it being jumpy. Halloween for being an all time classic and particularly scary. Or The Blair Witch for per chance suspense. it genuinely relies upon on the man i imagine in spite of the reality that =]

I love the idea behind SAW. It was a great scary movie. I always loved the Freddy Kruger movies. They were great. But the scarriest would have to be The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I haven't even seen it, I am too scared too. Oh I was also slightly scared by White Noise. Good movie though.

No comment on the gore element. Don't watch that sort of thing. The scariest movie I've ever saw without a doubt is Deliverance. Man, just thinking about that movie makes a cold shiver go down my spine. I watched that at fourteen and man it screwed me up. I had nightmares for weeks. Specially about that banjo playing kid.....

The one horror movie I've seen that fits in all those catagories is Audition. The entire movie leads up to the last 15 minutes which are gory, uforgetable, and quite suspensful. Rent it and be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat.

I saw The Descent tonight and it made me scream and jump a lot. However, the best movie would probably be Saw, because it could really happen...but I agree with the guy above me who said Dawn of the Dead remake-->GREAT MOVIE BUT SUPER FREAKY!

No contest! - DAWN OF THE DEAD, 2004 remake. Nothing even comes close.
Next runner up: THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, original, 1974.
These are SERIOUS gore movies, and very scary. Don't watch them unless you are ready for them.
The "Faces of Death" movies are just sadistic. I watched one and felt soiled, and violated. Don't sink to that level.
