Wrong answer! Do you want to make it to a 31st anniversary? I am kidding. I have been married 26 years, and it wouldn't hurt my feelings, but your wife might feel the same way. How about wineing and dining her before the game...or plan a special romantic weekend to make it up to her. Of course, you could take the wife to the ballgame. My husband was on a bike rally for our 25th, and we made it to the 26th. Again, it's what your wife thinks that matters. Is she one that has to celebrate on the day of? Or, can you put it off to next weekend. You have lived with this long, shouldn't you know by now, whether you going to be sleeping on the couch or not? 30 years is one of the big ones.
Like 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 etc... If I were her, you could go, but you would be making up big time. It's going to hurt the old wallet. Of course, there's going to be more football games, but how many 30th wedding anniversary are you going to have 1.
So, your call......is it going to be a touch down....or you going to off sides like on the couch!
God bless us all..................

Oh take it from another female. Bad idea. I mean how many other games are going to be played. This is a vary important anniversary. The 30th. Why do people think that way about the one day out of the year that the two of you made a vow. Doesn't that day mean anything to anyone any more?

That depends...what's more important...pleasing your wife, or pleasing your friends? NFL games will always be there. Anniversaries are just once a year. Is the game that important that you really need to go? I'm sure your friends will understand you missing out on this "one" game. If not, please see that you find some more worthy friends and get rid of these crutches. If this game is so special, why not just record it from TV?

Well DW, does your wife like football? I would be very hurt if my husband went to a ball game on such an important day; however, if I were a big football fan, it would be really cool if my husband had tickets for both of us and sometime during the game, on the scoreboard, a special message of love and admiration were to appear, that would be the cat's meow.
So no matter what you do, make your wife feel special and let her know that you would marry her all over again. 30 years is quite an accomplishment in this world of insensitivity and throw away relationships.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Why ruine the record, unless you are in the dog house for the other 29! Maybe your wife of almost 30 years enjoys the break, give her some chas and let her go shopping.

Have you been this selfish for the last 30 years! If so, wow, your wife really has cared for you a lot. So no, at least this one day, make it really special. Unless your friends are the ones who care for you when you are ill, or serve you dinner each night and care for your kids and grandchildren; then I guess friends would definitely be more important.
