if they really wanted the affair to go on, they wouldn't care being caught/long distance or what ever until they repented, in the affair case, the men hold 85%, their wife 10% n the third party 5% of responsibility on why this thing can actually happen

No longer needing what the affair is giving them.
Meaning ....if the man was not feeling needed or not being sexual in the way he needs it. If his relationship at home improves and he feels needed or wanted ... if he is able to explore his sexuality....the need for the affair will no longer be there.
It's all about communication, something broke down. If couples communicate there is not anything missing, or wounded, or lacking.
