It depends on the state. Some states (virginia, texas, etc) are "open-carry" states, so you can carry on your hip. In other places, you can't. Check out www.packing.org they know alot about gun laws and concealed weapons stuff.

I am not sure if there is a state that will allow a civilian to carry a pistol on their hip. Regardless how clean your record is. I carry one on my hip and one on my ankle everyday but I am a state trooper though. I know here in MS you can get a concealed permit and it is very limited on where you can carry it. You can probably find that information at any states DPS website. By the way there is no more concealed weapon law for a motor vehicle in MS anymore. As long as you are not a convicted felon and the weapon is a legal one. And over 18.

Yes you can as long as it is registered & you are not a convicted felon. The reason for the counseled weapon permit the weapon is not on your side 24 hours a day, I do not know if you have kids or not. If you do I am sure you hide the gun when you are not wearing it right? If not you better take some hunter safety courses. Just get it so we all don't use our gun rights!!!

No you cannot carry a hand gun on your hip unless you are law enforcement. In "The People's Republic of California" it is very difficult to get a concealed weapons permit. I think it is easier in Texas, but you'd have to look that one up.

Depends on where you live. In TX you can get a concealed wepon carry permit, but the weapon must remain concealed. You cannot carry openly, there's a law forbiding that.

you need a carry permit depending on which state you live in. most states will issue you a carry permit with a clean record and a good reason.

I think you still need the permit in many places even if you don't hide it. More than anything though, you would be asking for trouble. You will certainly get the police's attention wherever you go. You also may have an opportunist borrow it from you in a bad way if you know what I mean.

in oregon you are allowed to carry a weapon on your waist. but are not allowed to carry it into a bank or a bar if i remember correctly. different states have different laws. be sure to check with local authorities before you go totin around a pistol. if you feel your life or family is in danger then be sure to let the required people know. if i were a criminal-- i would think twice before i attempted to assault or attack a person with a sidearm. homicide is only justifiable if your life is threatened and you can use only the force that is necessary to respond to an attack. if said perp had a knife-- then shoot his azz. but if they say flipped you the bird-- you cannot shoot the lowlife. tell him next time to wave all his fingers at you.

Carriage of handguns is allowed as long as there is a valid permit to carry but it can only be done during competitions and not in public.

Depends on your state laws.
Remember this: Guns don't kill...the people with guns kill.
Not saying you are one of those either who would on purpose. I am against guns since my FIL was killed last Sept. while mowing his lawn. Shot for no reason, fought for 9 days to live and passed away on the 9th day
