Your phone rings, you look at the Caller Id, do you pick it up?

OR

If you have never had Caller Id, do you wish you did? Do you screen your calls?

I sure do! I don't want to pick up if it's work. A day off, is a day off! And it's not like I build rockets for a living. One friend will call literally 3-4 times in a row. "I just talked to you, what do you need now?"

I don't have caller ID, but I do have two phones. One of them is exdirectory and has a ban on untraceable calls. That one is the one I give out to friends and other people who have a right to know it. The other one I mistakenly allowed to go into the phone book and it is the target of several junk calls a day.

I answer that one with 'Junk Callers Anonymous.' The junk caller says, 'Is that Mr Smith?' I say, 'No, I will go and fetch him,' and then I leave the junk caller holding on.

I am still really annoyed by receiving junk calls. I feel as though someone had marched into my home and started trying to sell me something, all the while claiming that they are not trying to sell me anything. I can't understand why this serious nuisance is legal. If I started ringing double glasing companies up and lying to them, I would surely get at least an ASBO for my trouble.

Most of the times, I check the caller ID before I pick up the phone. I like this feature a lot.

I couldn't do without my Caller ID, I hate talking on the phone anyway. I also have one of those phones that allows me to apply a special ringtone to certain callers so I know who is calling just by the way the phone rings.

I definitely use the caller ID to screen calls. If I know who it is and I feel like talking I pick up. If I don't know who it is I let the machine get it and then decide.

Yeah, I only pick up the phone when it is someone I know, and I actually feel like talking to them. Thank god for caller id.

I don't on some calls cause I have ringer id - we are so spoiled with this technology and yea I will check out who it is before picking up most of the time - I mean it is like an instinct now.. whatever did we do before everything was handed to us.. haha

I like it though on the calls without ringer id because if I see an 800# is calling and I pick up and there is way way too long of a pause cause they are telemarketers trying to figure out my last name or something, I know I can just hang up.. cause I don't like them - they are evil. I had a job doing that once - it really messed with my self esteem :o) haha

I absolutely use the Caller ID....it is a fabulous invention! I screen out pest calls and am happy to see people I want to speak to. It's funny to watch old movies where the police were desperately trying to trace a call, and it would take several minutes--if they were lucky!

Yep, I do screen according to the caller and my mood. Always have. Caller ID is the best thing for me.
