Please do not say Israel should leave or Islamists should leave. It won't happen. Please, only serious answers, if anyone can think of anything. Is there any hope for peace in this area, and if so, what steps could be taken?

Khairul, thank you for your insight about it being a faith war. Bu when you go on to say that Israel is more wrong than Palestine, that is the very thing that leads to more war. Don't we have to stop picking sides? Let everyone have their own religion, certainly. And then do all we can to work toward a peaceful resolution?

Kill them all, fill it up again but with people from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark... that's the only ever lasting way to finish madness across Middle East.

It is so hard. It is israel against all arabic countries in the neighbor. Some neighbors do not recongise the israel as a state.
There is no trust among both sides. I think UN will have to stay there for long time to isolate one side from another. It may be decades before they can really start to sit down and settle the differences. With the UN troops there, at least the fighting would be die down significantly if not completely. Let the poor people enjoy some peace and quiet.
Certain thing must be done to help the Palestine to be an independant state. Help them to build up an economy there.
That's my two cents.

Resolution needs sacrifices from both sides and Arabs should grant Israel a right to exist.
Yes, the bloody history has always overshadowed the peace and brought in the trend of violence and retaliation in middle east.
But somehow they have to bring an end to the hostilities by brushing aside the bitter feelings of the past and convincing the masses for a mutual agreement between both sides. Thus cracking down on the hardliners would be the next best thing to do.
Probably establishing peace would leave US with no cause of concern and there would be nothing to intervene.
As far as Arab states are concerned they need to initiate a responsible action towards peace.

This is an easier-said-than-done-thing:
Everyone has to agree that there will be no attacking of anyone else ever again. Everyone has to agree that there will be a group of representatives to sit down and talk and talk and talk until very difficult compromise is reached between all sides. When it comes to issues where compromise is absolutely impossible they need to agree to put those aside for a while and find those things on which they agree, including agreeing with the idea that living in peace is a first priority.
Everyone has to value lack of being attacked more than they value anything else, and if people are to value even an interim peace they need to be convinced by whoever leads them (religious or otherwise) that there is more to be gained and more to be offered by not attacking others than there is by attacking others; and that being peaceful just may be far holier than attacking in the name of religion.
As with disagreements between individuals, if the parties take a rest from attacking and make an effort to deal with those issues that can be agreed on while allowing some time to address the more difficult issues between then; some time of a region that lived in peace would probably eventually also result in a region that could reach compromise.

Peace can prevail in the middle East. The world has come to the conclusion that USA is a party to the conflict in the middle east. Any US administered peace effort will fail. USA did not play a role model play in this area of a major conflict that had tarnished its image. A neutral party from the region, acceptable to both JEWs and MUSLIMS, should sit down and find solutions. The atmosphere of brotherhood should prevail during these sittings. Both parties to the conflict, should agree not to use voilence or any other tactics. These meetings should happen as often as deemed neccessary. There should be a neutral place , anywhere in the world where Jews and muslims can sit down together, not to discuss religion but just discuss the ways to prevent the hostilities, and chalk out differences.

It should be that the differing parties are separated by a certain distance of neutral ground and passable only at certain points and the entire thing put under either impartial parties like the UN soldiers or like they do in Korea and did in Berlin where each crossing is manned by soldiers on one side of the check points and soldiers of the other side are in charge of the other side of the check point. It worked well for decades and still does. When 2 peoples of totally different beliefs and life styles are soooooo different that they cannot live together inpeace, this is the only solution. The same should be done in Iraq where you have the Sunnis and the Shites killing each other. Separate them by a corridor of neutrality and have check points. The corridor is usually mined, electrified, patroled and extremely heavily guarded with towers and flood lites at close intervals. Who cares who has what weapons---as long as they do not use them. It would eliminate all of the carbombers, kidnappers and such.

War has been going on for a looooong time in the middle east. Sometimes fights like these can only be fought out. So the formula for peace in the middle east = war until someone destroys the other.

There is no hope for the Middle East, it is a lost cause! I don't mean the entire Middle East, just a large majority of it. Terrorists and tyrants run the Mid-East. The people over there have been fighting for thousands of years, I doubt if they'll stop now.

we must know that the war in middle east is faith war... I say that between islam and yahudi...it will always war between them because in their holly book said what God said.
Me moslem, but i don't like the war, I will always to say to other religions that islam is not war religion but it's peace religion. The formula for peace in the world or even in middle east is don't try to disturb the other religion. it is very censitive case.
in the case of palestine and israeli is both of them are wrong but the most wrong is israeli why they begun the war...any comment?

No one wins in a war. Property can be restored, but even a lifetime is not long enough to resolve grief over a lost loved one.
Since Muslims, Jews and Christians have messianic beliefs, maybe praying for the messiah to come and bring lasting peace before the world destroys itself would be a win-win-win solution

In the Bible it says after a major peace accord all hell will break lose over there. Read Ezikiel 38th chapter, There will never be true peace. I wish it wasn't the case though because I hate it.
