My left hand has very limited use because of an injury 15 years ago. I have no feeling in my fingers to my elbow, so I tend to cut/burn myself often, I don't think of myself as handicapped, just limited on some activities. Is it possible to get some kind of state help even if I do have a part time job?

I knew a gentleman who was totally defomed, lived in q wheel chair, and was hooked to an oxygen tank. This petite black gentleman got a college degree and worked a full time job until the day he died. I feel sorry for people who been in accidents and are not 100%, but people milking the government is the biggest part of our deficit, way more than the war on terror.

We live in the USA. My daughter just received a disability from Social Security. At present, she is considered totally disabled due to suffering from Leukemia. However, within a year she should be able to work part time as the chemo treatments decrease. At that point she will receive Supplemental Income until she can work full time.
I also have had several patients that have been on partial disability. Some of them permanently, some temporarily. So, yes, you can get partial disability Income. You need to make application with the Social Security office.
Might I also, recommend that you check into getting massage therapy, CranioSacral Therapy and/or physical therapy to help you recover. I know the accident was many years ago, but, the bodywork would help you. If you cannot afford it, check out a Vocational Rehabilitation program. I know the State of Florida has a very good Voc Rehab department that helps many People recover from injuries with financial assistance for doctors, massage therapy, emotional counseling, physical therapy, career counseling, etc.
There are many programs out there that you can access. Good Luck!
