I'll narrow it down for you.

~Verizon = Biggest cell phone provider cult there is. They disable most features off every single phone they have. Reason being they want all there phones to be setup the same. Go to Verizon you'll have the same menu as everyone else, you'll get features turned off your phone. Now if your not interested in web browsing, cameras, or anything technical then you'll do alright on Verizon. There the 2nd best carrier for reception. They used to be on top of the list.

~Cingular = Number 1 on the list for reception, has most users. Great reception, of course you'll loose a call if your in the middle of no where with no towers but trust me thats every provider. Cingular doesnt block anything fro mthere phones, and they dont force you to pay for ringtones, games, etc. There one of the most easiest to use and one of the greatest providers you could go with. I reccommend them, and not only cuz I have them.

~T Mobile = Great high speed 3G internet for say the Sidekick. Reception on the other hand is mediocour. This is my second pick for any provider. They run on the GSM network along with Cingular, which in my opioun is better then the CDMA networks that Verizon and Sprint uses.

~Sprint/Nextel = Sprint has pretty much nothin goin for them no more. There on the lower end of the chart. Poor reception. The Sprint broadband WiFi connection card for the laptops, I havent seen any statictis on it but youd only be able to use that in big cities such as NYC, Baltimore, LA, etc. Then again why would you wanna pay 50 a month when you could sniff for a free wireless connection. The Nextel phones dont have service goin for them either, the only thing there pretty much good for is them damn annoyin walki talki feature. Heavy duty phones is another plus but how many times do you really break your phone? Cingular's walki talki feature is annoying to, but then again I think all of them are, but Cingulars service is pretty good with that to. Sometimes you'll be able to use your walki talki where there isnt any reception so thats a really good positive there. And when I say no reception I mean if your like down in the valley or whatnot. $10 monthly subscription though for cingulars.

Best bet is to go with Cingular, you'll be the happiest with them for all the reasons. What other providers lag and cut out Cingular picks up.

I would say it would be between Verizon and Sprint. Voice coverage, Verizon is a bit better, but data wise, Sprint has more coverage. Plus I think Sprint has better pricing.

On the GSM vs CDMA topic, CDMA is a newer technology and is superior to GSM. Why do you think Cingular is upgrading from GSM to WCDMA?

I'd have to say Verizon Wireless. I travel nationally for business and I never have difficulty getting service and I almost never lose a call. Not only that, they really do have the best customer service. At the end of the day, that is what matters most.

Cingular...... it has reception everywhere.... sprint has 2 many dropped calls... Verion is a rip off if u flow over your minutes... T-cellular is particularly kool yet on some plans u do not get loose nights and weekends... Cingular is the staggering because the minutes u do not use rollover...

I would have to agree that Verizon is probably the best. Of course they all have there service moments. I live in a very rural area and the only service that works from home to work is Verizon.
