if you have a modern fast computer you can use "Briefcase"
right click the screen and make new briefcase.
You can drag your files into that then drag the whole lot into your external hard drive.
the problem is every time you make a change; say rate the track or something, when you update it copies the track again so it can be time consuming
what i have is a folder for new music and play lists, then when i put new tracks on i can update automatically. if you've never used Briefcase before, try it with a word doc or something then change a word and have a look at the briefcase, it will tell you it needs updated
go to help F1 and type in Briefcase its brill for updating files on an external hard drive
email me if your stuck
