Flying. I have thought long and hard about immortality, invisibility, telekinesis, shooting lightning bolts from my hands, mind control and the like. While these powers would give more gain, and be more fun probably, would they not begin to sap my humanity? Mind control - people would become tools to me. Immortality, other people would fade in importance, as I would be the only near-constant thing in my life, I would eventually isolate myself from society, and thus humanity. Shooting lightning bolts, telekinesis, and invisibility, are powers that would make me feel godlike, being above the average person. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I find I would eventually become a tyrant and lose my empathy, understanding, and respect for people, even if my initial intentions are to use the power for good. The temptation would eventually be too great and I think it would be so for most people.

But flying... I have always wanted to fly. Ever since I was a toddler, I climbed out of my crib, climbed my furniture, climbed and climbed, trying to reach the sky. Flying doesn't make me able to take out a fully armed swat team, treat people like mere tools, or able to easily pass unseen by people (being above them can work, but its not so easy when they can still see you). And flying might not, as much as the other powers, make me feel so much like a god compared to other people, as opposed to something more akin to the opposite of a paraplegic. Sure I may end up seeing all other people as something slightly less, subconsciously, as anyone really good at something that others aren't, may, but I don't think it would cripple my humanity. I think it would enhance it. The other powers are simply fantasies, but to fly, that is a calling of my soul. I would be steps closer to being 'whole' and 'complete', on a spiritual level, if I could fly. So I would choose that Superpower.

A combination of knowledge and belief in success I think are infinitely powerful. So I would want *infinite learning power*.

I'm talking about the speed neo learns when jacked into the matrix.

hook me up with some sweet way to inhale everything on the net and consolidate it mentally... and I'm sure I'd beable to do all kinds of crazy stuff... also what about the super power to find and make it work with your perfect partner.... I know that sounds cheese, but I'm sure it would be followed by infinite happiness...
but hell yeah, flying, invincibility, and strength would be sweet too. ;-)
Cheers.
