I like that people answered. However, to the young-uns. I did put "Grown up" in the title. Now take your two points and run along now, ya hear?

I had different dreams of becoming a nurse, a dancer, a millionaire (without working), a writer,
a painter, a queen, a beautiful actress. In all these I would be living in a mansion, drive a Rolls Royce, and be married to a really good looking man who made all my dreams come true. I would be so-o-o-o happy! I would dream these things while picking cotton, or stacking peanuts, or hoeing in the fields, or pulling corn, or playing around with my siblings. We didn't have much materially, we lived in various old frame houses; but we were a pretty happy family most of the time. Times were hard and money was scarce.
I now work at a Rite-Aid, I have a wonderful husband that drank like a fish and smoked like Mt. Saint Helens when I first met him (he believes in Christ and is a different person), I have 2 stepsons that I love (yes, part of that was very hard to live through), and 4 grandchildren, and I have a 21 yr. old daughter that I love in a special way because she is half me and half her daddy. I live in a 3 bedroom brick home that is a mansion compared to what I grew up in. I have enough money to pay all my bills, eat, and buy clothes for my daughter that she doesn't need. I have a wonderful church family, my brother and 5 sisters are all healthy and we're all 50 or over.God has blessed me way past anything I dreamed of as a child. It was just a little bit different and a lot more ordinary than I planned. But it feels so extraordinary and heavenly.

Well will have to say when I was young I thought the world was an incredible place, like I saw everything through "rosy-colored" glasses. I was nice to people and thought there was always just nice people in this world. I think I thought that that was how it would be when I grew up...............now I realize that it is what you make it! So while I am very aware of people and how people can be, not care, not think of others, I choose to surround myself with good people and try to help others. I think living today as a kid, you guys have it a lot harder! To me, being a Mom now, it is so hard to watch our kids hear others, be rejected, and cursed at, lied to when it all comes down to it, its all about competition. Its like you have to be the best, know it all........or else what? Where is all of the pressure leading to? To me, kids drinking alcohol, doing other stuff, drugs, heavy drugs at younger and younger ages just to handle the stress. UGH! It seems kids are not allowed to be kids anymore. I always thought I would be married, and have kids and God Blessed me with all of it! For this, I am very thankful. Have learned a lot of lessons along the way on this journey of life, but wouldn't have had it any other way! Great question, thanks for asking us grown ups!!! :)

no, I had big plans and then I let what I wanted to do get in the way of what I needed to do to get where I wanted to be. As with most teenagers, we let running around and doing out own thing mess up where we should be and what we should be doing. I wanted to be an attorney and instead became a mom at 19 and became a waitress. I am a good person and love my life but I still wonder sometimes what it would have been like.

In some respects, yes, I did. In other respects, no, I didn't. Why did I not totally become the person I had envisioned? Life experiences, some good, some bad, that drew me into unplanned directions for one thing. Loss of my best friend is another. (Friends like that have a stabilizing effect.) I think too I could have used some better advice from my immediate and extended family members and even teachers.

Nope... as a kid... I was clueless....

When I grew up and caught a clue, the dreams and plans of youth were found to be borne of ignorance.

As an adult, not only do I know what things are possible, but I've achieved all the ones could, and that far exceeded what I thought I would.

Nope, for if I did, I would be some tight-wearing, invisible power-using super-hero that saved man kind. Why? Because I guess super-heroes don't exist...but I liked your question! :)
