Yes this would look great on your application. Get some similar work experience while in college. Contact your local police department. They often have civilian training that lasts for a couple of weeks. All the training is based on what they do. Everything from weapons, suspects take downs, and patrol. You can also check out their website for more information. This would also look great. Also try to get into a job while in college that deals with investigations. This will all help.

It's good but you need to be on the straight and narrow in order to get accepted into the FBI. If you have smoked pot more than three times in your entire life you will not make the cut through the lie detector test they give all applicants. Also, if you have ever committed a crime, stolen anything, cheated or been dishonest it will come out during the test. Seriously, I know people who work in the FBI, CIA, Secret Service and they have told me ALL about the hoops they had to jump through. The government seems to like to hire military or ROTC people. Good luck!

There are two major avenues to get into the FBI. The first is an accounting degree, and the second is military service (especially the Marine Corps). If you do both, you're pretty much assured to get into the Bureau.

Don't be a fed. Do you want to work for a guy like Chertoff? The bureaucracy of the Federal Govt is massive and if you want to do police work try a local PD of Sheriff's office in a larger city/county.

I could be wrong on this, but I think the FBI likes people to have law degrees

Ask th FBI what their criteria are then satisfy them. It is of no use to merely guess what they want or ask others who can only guess as well. See http://www.fbi.gov/ for the information you want. if it isn't there write to them.
