To my knowledge Chamomile is great because it's decaffeinted and safe. I love Chamomile iced too.

when i was pregnant i drank many kinds of tea. Chamomile is fine, also mint tea. Aviod Red Raspberry Leaves, they may cause early labor or miscarrage durring first trimester. Most teas that you find in a regular grocery store are safe, I like Celestial Seasonings. other wise consult a herbalist about safe pregnancy herbs.

While chamomile and other herbal medicinals should be avoided during pregnancy and nursing, the FDA considers chamomile "generally regarded as safe." As with anything, especially during pregnancy, enjoy with moderation.
And congratulations!!

You're on the right track. Herbal teas are generally safe because they are caffeine free. I'd avoid black tea (lipton, etc.) because they are loaded with as much or more caffeine as coffee and the tanic acid may be hard on your stomach. Green tea is generally considered the most healthful, though camomile would be good to calm your nerves. Another interesting tea fact...if your baby seem overly fussy after birth and you are breast feeding, it may mean they are reacting to caffeine...in which case it's best to stay with herbal tea until you finish breast feeding. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Any tea should be just fine during pregnancy.
Once I did read that you may want to avoid green tea because it can induce labor, but I don't know how sound that notion is. Tea is great, just watch the caffeine intake.
My favorite is ginger because it settles my stomach.

Teas that are caffeine free. The doctor told me I could have one or 2 servings (8oz) of caffeine a day, but I never drank much caffeine before I was pregnant so I had no problem.

I drank chamomile tea while pregnant. (my Greek in-laws swore it was good for the baby). Just look for DECAF! You'll already be using the bathroom enough, you don't need to add caffeine to the already squished bladder. Try a variety with Ginger & Peach. It stopped morning sickness COLD for me.

www.earthmamaangelbaby.com has tons of loose teas that are not only tasty but are beneficial during pregnancy. If you're not a loose tea type of person, they sell infusers as well as empty bags to make your own tea bags.

Red-raspberry leaf tea. It actually helps make your uterus stronger so that you have the baby easier. It tastes great. You will feel twinges in your uterus and you know you are getting ready. GOOD LUCK from one sweet tea drinker to another.
