Yes, I was hypnotized by a licensed clinical psychologist to help me with my ability to focus. This was when I was in graduate school. It took about 3 sessions until I was comfortable enough to go under. After that we did three more sessions and a refresher session about 6 months later. It worked wonders!!!! It never "felt" like I was under ( I could still hear outside noise and sirens, etc.) but I was because when he told me by hands where like lead and I tried to lift them...I could not! I remembered everything and he gave me a cue to help me concentrate. I think it would work great for a workout!!! I would only recommend going to a licensed psychologist NOT to a "licensed" hypnotherapist. The training for the psychologists is much more extensive...the training for a "licensed" hypnotherapist may only mean a few courses on weekends! You should never let someone into your mind that does not have extensive training...you wouldn't let anyone other than a licensed surgeon cut into your body...the mind is even more delicate!!

Yes hypnotism works. I use to use it to turn off severe pain I had. You have to learn to relax for it to work. I also used it to help my son get to sleep when he was scared at night when he was little and now use it on his children for the same purpose. For something like what you want you will have to work on it a bit but after a while it should work. This is something you can do on yourself but have to have patience, tape yourself with a nice relaxing voice telling your body parts to relax first and then what you want it to do. The tape should be about 1/2 hour or so.

I have been hypnotized before. Medical hypnotherapy is great and can be very effective.

You do not need to be hypnotised to increase your work productivity. You just need to prioritise and organize your work.
