Ok, So I have this teacher this semester that absolutely hates me. I am an A's and B's student, and Im afraid my GPA will suffer because I have her. I have her for the hardest class of this semester (Chemistry), and I struggle anyway in Sciences. There is absolutely no way to switch, so does anyone know how to work with this situation???

Ok, in response to the "She Doesnt Hate You" lines (Which I knew would happen...), I had her for half a semester last year due to a teacher having a health issue, and barely kept a "B" in her class. If I do ask her for help, she answers "Well, if your doing so well in other classes, cant you do well in this class?". I asked her if I could talk to her at another time, and she agreed, but when I was there, I waited around an hour and she never showed. The next day, she said she forgot, and we set a new date. This repeated around 4 or 5 times, before I just said to forget it because there were only 2 weeks left in the semester. I have compared tests with friends (they get the same grades I do) and she grades me more strictly (As in I got it wrong, but my buddy wrote in the exact same thing in the exact same wording and got it right). She has a problem with me, and she is past the point of "Pushing Me"

I don't really know what to tell you, except that you need to study hard. Get help from your peers if you are having difficulty in the class, or get a tutor. Are you sure she hates you, or did she just make some remark that made you think so? Sometimes teachers have bad days.
If she really does hate you, just participate actively in class (ask questions!) and make sure to show her that you're serious about learning chemistry (by doing all your homework and giving everything your best attempt). Maybe her opinion of you will change. I'm not sure what else you could do.

I'm a secondary teacher myself:
Question 1: Why do you think this? Does she have reason to "hate" you?
If so--confront or change it maturely.
Question 2: Is this the first time you've felt this way about a teacher? If so, it may just be the teacher's style--see if other students get the same vibes. If so, then just deal with it--some people simply have rough personalities.
Question 3: If you're still at a loss, talk (without seeming like a whiner) to a teacher who you think does like you for advice. If there is no such teacher, then the problem probably lies with you.
Question 4: Do you have a reputation of some sort?
Lastly--I doubt that the teacher really hates you unless something really big you haven't said has already happened or she heard something about you and has made a prejudgment. Confront her maturely and kindly, and anyone worth anything will respect that and converse back.

I would try to talk with her again and if needed bring in your parents and the principal to the meeting.
Be polite, but firm. Ask what you can do to solve this problem and try to come to an understanding. Tell her (with your parents and the principal present) that you want to make the best grades possible and would like her input on how you can improve your grades in her class.
She should be more than willing to tell you and work with you. Also, tell her what you said here; that you feel she "hates you." She will most likely take this very seriously, because most teachers WANT to help their students do well and if a student feels "hated" then the student will not be able to do as well in the class.
You two will most likely end up with a wonderful teacher/student relationship after the air is cleared.

Strategies for this are hard - and depends a lot on the sort of person you are.
My strategy would be to see her with either a trusted friend (perhaps the same one who got marked higher for the same question as you ) or another trusted teacher to help mediate. Explain not that she is wrong and crap etc. but that you are 'not understanding what you are doing wrong and would like some opportunities to improve'.
Some of the other strategies listed here are good (as was your own approach), but I would caution you against turning this into more of a conflict than it needs to be. But certainly don't be afriad to get other people -especially other staff members-onside. If there is a real problem with her teaching, they are better placed to deal with it than another student or parents are. Move on to official complaints when all other avenues have been exhausted.

It's Chem for god's sake. Your test scores and answers are all black ad white. So you're saying you suck at chem. It seems you have been presenting this wrong - you obviously have made some comments about your good grades to her as though it matters. My suggestion? If you were in humanities this is a problem, all you need in a science class is to get a tutor or study guide and bring your grade up. Read your textbook, take notes in class. You just suck at science evidently. Get an AP Chem review book or idiot's guide to chemistry or something. The teacher has to present the material to the class. You have to learn it. They don’t have to tutor you for free. This is your responsibility. And when a teacher hates you, you will know. They will report you to counseling and refer you to different programs and send letters of complaint. This teacher is just ignoring you. This is someone at work doing their job, now do yours.

I had the same problem - tried to confront the teacher bet he kept avoiding me. I evetually went to my guidance counsellor for hrlp. It turned out he didn't like my brother and thus tarred me with the same brush. I eventually took her head on in class - in front of all the other students and like all other bullies, he backed down. Granted, he made my life hell but I kept on complaining to other teachers and eventually to the head master. The teacher in question was reprimanded and I got changed to a new class.

Teachers really don't hate their students, I think they want to help learning to be accomplished. There are different degrees of like and dislike between students and teachers. I would think your semester may have just started. If your semester just started how can she or he hate you, how can they know you yet? If there is bad blood, which I have experienced myself, you try your best to tolerate them and keep a low profile and just make it through as best you can. It won't last forever.

Why do you think she hates you? She may just know that you are a good student and she is trying to push you to do BETTER. Talk to your school's counselor if you really think it's a personal issue, but all I can suggest is work your butt off and make her give you that A!

Talk to your guidance counselor and/or school counselor/psychologist. Talk to your principal or dean of students. Talk to your parents. If anything, have your parents talk to the teacher or have them complain to the principal about her.
Try to remember that most people in the field of education are there because they like people and want to help kids learn. Most teachers tend to have nurturing personalities. So even if sometimes it feels like they're all against you, they're really not. You should be able to find SOMEONE in the school who is willing to help you remedy this situation. The principal will definitely care, because it's his/her responsibility to hire good teachers.
