well people buy them because the fashion, and some others because the name and because they like them, in my case i buy them because they look nice and that kind of clothing is very difficult to find it in other stores, i love american eagle, hollister and abercrombie & fitch. eventhought they are expensive they are well worth, so don't worry, just remember buy what you can afford.

You probably are when you can get similar discounted clothes at other shops or brand name discount stores. Have a real good look around for the discount stores or better still, once the item has been brought out by the name brand other companies can bring out similar/look like copies of the brands..so you could wait a couple of mths and get the same type of tee shirt at a cheaper price. $20 is pretty reasonable for a big name tee shirt but you can always find the $5 somewhere else

Its just the name! Who in the world is going to go around looking at the name tags of ur tees or shirts! Even the quality is not that different!! Is just so tha u can brag about it(too cheap!) to ur friends!! I dont think all this is worth double the price for the same thing!! Anways, enjoy shopping and wearing clothes and don worry about brands because more people than u think dont even bother about such stuff. Enjoy shopping!! Bye

I think it's just for the name. Rich people can justify it all they want, but I've never had an expensive piece of clothing that lasted any longer than a similar piece bought somewhere like JCPenny's. $40 for a t-shirt? $100 for a jacket? You're definitely getting ripped off. There are so much better things to spend money on than a brand name on a tag.

Well I would consider going to Aeropostale if you have one nearby since they offer similar clothes at considerably lower prices. Most of their shirts are about $13 on average if not lower. If you don't live near one, they also have a website where you can order clothes from at http://www.aeropostale.com/home/index.jsp
However, in answer to your question above, I think many people often wear name brand clothing in efforts to fit in. With increasing peer pressure, it's hard for teens to feel valued unless they have the right t-shirt on or the right pair of pants. But I think you're starting to come around and realize that there's more to life than just expensive clothing!

Both.
I'm not going to buy a Dolce & Gabbana shirt if it's ugly.
But I definitely wouldn't buy the shirt from WalMart even if it looked exactly like the Dolce & Gabbana one.
Expensive clothes are appealing to me.
I've spent hundreds of dollars on just a shirt that I hadn't even known or heard of the brand.
But with time you grow to love the brand.
Yeah, and Abercrombie & Fitch is gross.

rich people buy signature clothes for the name, because that could indicate society status, because you see some very expensive branded clothes doesn't really look so good at all yet people buy it because of the brand because it feels great wearing expensive clothes. but you know there are such stores that sell signature clothes for a cheap price, but upon wearing it, it doesn't cost the price anyway it looks good as the expensive ones. ^^

both.
when people know the brand, somehow they feel that this is what you're worth. there's a difference between seeing someone with a target brand sweater and an abercrombie sweater.
also, along with the brand comes great quality. i guess that would be somewhat connected to the look.
just like 7's jeans. they expensive as hell, but they're the most comfortable pairs of jeans ever and they look great!

The name; you can get fake Louis Vuitton handbags anywhere for 1/4 the price of the real thing and it looks the same, unless you've been studying up on your handbags. It's just so you can look like a celebrity, even if it means maxxing out your credit cards to do it.
