Most colleges have econ departments and the econ dept's reputation typically reflects the reputation of the school as a whole.

That said, there is a whole "Chicago school" of economic thought that was developed out of the University of Chicago. If you study econ there you will study with the greats.

If you are looking to get a spectacular job with your Econ degree, try looking at the Ivies. An honors Econ degree from Princeton will open a lot of doors for you.

Stanford is a school "outside the Ivies" but still Ivy quality.

An unusual choice would be UC Santa Barbara -- they have 2 Econ Nobel Laurates teaching there.

I would look up the Econ Nobel Laurates and see where they are teaching. Those will be good schools. Of course, they'll probably only be teaching grad students but you can say you studied under people who studied under the Nobel prize winner!
