Actually, people are stupid enough to do just that. The warning on the product is to cover the company's liability. I find that funny though, because that assumes that the buyer can read and understand English! Anyway, that is the reason for the warning. At least the user cannot say, "You did not tell me not to put it in my mouth!"

Well, conceivably someone might not understand how it's to be used. The real reason is that warnings are required by law and the company wants to cover its a** in the event that the product is misused.

Unbelieveably, I had a patient who tried to use birth control pills by inserting them into her vagina. She couldn't understand why they didn't work. At least she wasn't bright enough to think of suing.

Well, why do Pop Tarts have "Do Not Microwave" on their packages?

There are idiots born every minute all over the globe. A company product is suppose to be idiot-proof. Preparation H is probably just covering their butts legally. (Pun 100% intended!)

You took the words right out of my mouth. Yes, some people are absolutely so stupid they would not only use it orally, but then they would sue the manufacturer and PROBABLY WIN!!!

Tell me our system is not screwed up!!!

The sad thing here is that for every stupid warning label you see, it means that someone somewhere has tried to do that.

Oh He** yes someone will eat it. I had a patient who was supposedly alert and oriented drink butt wash with a straw. You would think the fact it had a spray top would be a clue but oh no they drank it.

people try to eat all sorts of things. all toxic medications have to have labels that explain the hazards of ingesting a product. they have to put that it is dangerous. i think they should just put a mr yuck emblem on the toxic products.

Some one that does not know what it is used for may not know how to use it. Specially young people.

Because that is the wrong route. It is used rectally. It is for hemorrhoids. This has nothing to do with the mouth.
