you have to be able to document and verify actions that violate written rules.

If someone is being an idiot, or being prejudice - but carefully doing so within the parameters of written rules, then don't risk getting smushed by someone evil AND clever.

There are bigots everywhere, and they are fundamentally stupid. But, they are usually smart enough to not cross any official lines. That's what makes prejudice of any kind so insidious.

Prejudice; it's such a word with great meaning. How did the user, use it? Authority, then use that to your advantage, it makes them more vunerable than the average bear. Go to whomever you think will listen, and or also have the ability to tell others in the right places.

Every boss has a boss. Speak privately to someone in authority you trust and ask them to go with you to speak with this person or this person's superior/boss. Be willing to have an open discussion about your concerns with this person in the presence of those involved in resolving this issue. Good luck.

You aren't saying whether this person is your supervisor or your father-in-law. Makes a difference.

You also don't say the context of the prejudice. Makes it hard to say exactly what you should do.

If the person is your supervisor (or similar), you have the option of going to their supervisor to discuss it.
