My bestfriend & I of 7 years were once so close we would pay for things for each other & not expect repayment, we'd see each other 3 times a week even if it wasn't convenient & we'd never run out of things to talk about.

Then she met one of my guy friends & fast became bestfriends with him (took a couple months) & instead of just me & her spending time together it was me & her & him. Then everything I said above was, like, transferred off of me & onto him. Then of course they started dating each other.

Tried talking to her about it but nothing came of it & now it's lucky if I see her once a month & when I do, we run out of things to say so quickly. She keeps saying we're still bestfriends as if nothings changed but I don't think I even like who she is anymore. I don't feel upset when I think about our loss of friendship but I often can't stand being around her. (I have no problem with my guy friend who's dating her) Should I cut all ties with her or try to work on our friendship?

Lives change. You just grew apart. Its not like your enemies. Tell her you don't think you are as close as you once were and say you feel like your relationship is growing apart. Tell her the truth, it may hurt but you need to be honest.

'We are best friend!'.This statement can made by anyone,so,what if she said that you guys are still best friend, its so obvious that she know your friendship is going down the drain, that why she making that statement,so when she fight with her new best friend aka boyfriend, she will have you as a backup.
Action speaks louder than word,if you guys were really best friend, there is no need to make that statement, its based on that tie that can be felt without words,no need to cut the tie(s) because they aren't more between you both, why bother to put effort in something that is gone?Better still, ignore her completely because its a waste of energy to even glance people like her

Unfortunately, people change. It sounds like your friend has changed, nothing against you, sometimes people just drift apart. I am sorry for your loss. Sit down and talk to her about it, maybe things will work out. Good luck.

i wouldn't cut the friendship off. but i wouldn't call her. when she wants to talk she will call you. and if she said anything to you why haven't you called. just tell her how you feel. i also have a best friend we been friends for 18 years. but right now we are taking.. she thought i should take her side in something and i didn't . i took her husband side, she got mad. so now we are not talking. she thought i should alwayss take her side. but she found out it's not alway going to happen. so she is pissed off. just go about your business. and don't worry it will work out. good luck.

Life is about change. Change with it or move on. If everything stayed the same wouldnt it be a boring life. In time you will find that its really not that bad because you will meet someone that will change your life also. Thats just life.

there are ups and downs in friendships and i've gone through many complicated and hurting friendships. one by one, year to year, my so-called best friends "dump" me aither because they've found a group that suits them well or a friend that is more popular or cool. during those times, i had shed a lot of tears but i continued to be there for them in their times of needs. you guessed it, they took me forgranted. they only come to me when there's no one else. and finally, one by one, they realise what they've done and came back... they know who's true and who's not.. no matter what, i'll remain loyal to my friends.. i hold on to
F - Friendship
R - Remains
A - And
N - Never
C - Can
E - End
no matter what, i respect your choice.. whatever it is...
