If you mean do you think another vice president will assume the office of an assinated president, history has shown that to happen a number of times, statistically and sadly; if could happen again.

If you mean Tylers refusal to send in federal troops to a state cause, I think that is the tendency of all presidents; to avoid committing national army to internal strife. The states do that, governors commanding the national guard. Bush is trying to change that, citing Lousiana failingto call National Guard to the hurricane; I think he is wrong to try to do this. The LA governor failed to act and Bush got blamed...that should not make the president in charge of states rights.
