More than likely you've got a TON of dirt and dust in your computer tower and on the CPU heatsink...you need to use compressed air to clean that out...then your fan will slow back down because it won't be so hot and try to expel all the heat build up...The fans are running faster trying to keep your CPU and Motherboard from burning up!!!

A lot of computers have sensors and the ability to speed the fan up when the computer gets hot. Video cards can really change the temp of a computer.
What worries me is the noise you are complaining about, it maybe your fan wearing out and heat is the number one killer of computers.
I highly suggest a trip to the computer store to get a new high flow fan asap. They are a great investment,,,, They do not cost much and they save you a lot in the long run.
While you have the case off for replacing the unit a good cleaning with compressed air should set you good for quite some time to come.
Under 30 minutes and under 30 dollars...

If your computer detects that your computer is getting too hot, it will speed up the fans to cool your system down so nothing melts. If it just started doing this, you could try getting some canned air duster at an office supply store and clean out the dust from your computer. Blow the dust off fans and other surfaces in your computer's case. This will allow your computer to work better, and your fans won't kick in as often.

Spray the fan & housing with a can of air and clean it out really good. Make sure it's not getting overheated or that somethinh hasn't blocked the fan.

Clean the fan, or buy a new one. Most likely there is a bunch of high CPU crap running (spyware) that doesnt need to be, that is causing the cpu to work harder then needed, and causing it to heat up.

Try cleaning it with a can of air, that may help you out.
And if it doesn't, it may not be a problem, my desktop does the same thing now, and so has all of them I have had as they get older.

well..i personally experience this problem with my grandma complainin in the mddle of the night when i use the pc..here's my observation..the fan's main objective in ur cpu is to lower the cpu temperature lest it overheats..the longer u use the pc..the higher the temperature therefore the faster the fan to lower down the temperature in the cpu..also.runescape tends to have mroe processing in terms of gameplay therefore your computer will have to process more..therefore higher temperature in cpu..(hope this is not too naggy and it helps..)..
