Interesting question since the answer is nothing more than a point of view from ones perspective. However, there are some interesting answers to this question and I will agree there are some good contenders. From my point of view cigarettes are definately useless. No matter what useless justification for cigarettes anyone could possibly come up with would be even more useless.

Men, ha ha just kidding old joke, well it would have to be ignorance, it has never led anyone to a great warm fuzzy place, yeah I could go for none of that, my life would probably go alot smoother without so much of it, I find myself tripping on it within the television, and on this computer, yeah ignorance, pretty dang gone useless!

celebrities, get paid way too much for what they do. Let's face it it's not hard work. They are having a great time doing what they do. They get treated like demigods in our society.
Sports. Once again, way too much money is paid and for what? So people can gather around in a group, get drunk, act rowdy. Waste of time and resources. Why don't we pay Stephen hawking huge amounts for televised speaking engagements, or discussions with other scientists to discuss global warming or war or other topics.
