The only way is to walk up and ask, " Are you hiring?" There is nothing stupid or unprofessional about this. If you are calling, then ask the appropriate person. State your name and then ask.

Always say "Hi!". The follow by a "Are you currently hiring?" or "Are you hiring at the moment?". If they answer yes, ask for an application. If they answer no, then back off. Beware though! Some companies ask you to fill out an application on the spot, so bring a sample application with all your information on it with you or have it near by (aka a car).

not as long as you do it tactfully. It per chance that there's a extreme turnover fee for people in that position or that there has been a diffusion for that different dept and the agency needs more beneficial people to finish that position. no matter if it truly is because of turnover, ask the interviewer what complications the agency has confronted with the area so that you recognize what to anticipate.

Just straight up and tell them that you're looking for a job and you're wondering if they are hiring or have opening positions.

Just politely ask if they have any open positions for whatever type or level of position you are seeking--entry level, clerical, manual labor, CEO, etc...

Good hunting!

Call first instead of going in. It is cheaper and you don't have to feel embarrased because they have no idea who you are.
