Paranormal romance, like most subgenres of romance, have migrated to ebooks where cross-genre fiction proliferates.
Regular fiction (i.e. the usual New York publisher material) has such limited shelf space that many authors are relegated to ebooks, simply because a bookstore does not know where to place cross genre books.

Adding vampires and the like to a run of the mill romance definitely spices a book up a bit. I really enjoy the genre, as long as it's well written.

Pretty interesting. I've written a vampire romance novel, and the one I'm doing write now is kind've a cybersex hybrid with some paranormal qualities.

The romance had become so standard that the plots were run and rerun. Adding paranormal to it allows quite a bit more variation.

I love it It's currently my favorite genre. Katie MacAlister and Lynsay Sands are two great authors in this genre.
