It depends on the condition of the restroom...some are too gross to use. But, if it's relatively clean, I think that it's fine and there is nothing wrong with a person who uses it.

It's true that some small, independently-owned gas stations have restrooms that are just NASTY. But for the most part, they're kept as clean as possible.
And the national/regional "chain" places actually compete with each other..."Restroom Cleanliness" is one of the factors in the comparison profiles.
Of course, you might just get unlucky...the one time you decide to use a gas station restroom is the day that the water main pipe burst. Or the Latvian soccer team used the restroom right before you got there.

Only if you absolutely have to. I will add this however, the cleanest gas station bathrooms are in Utah. I went there on a trip and I was completely amazed. There is just something about having a lack of people densely packed that promotes cleanness.

personally for me, i dont use ANY type of public bathroom. i used to work on the turnpike, and id see the kind of unclean people that would go in there, and how uncaring they are of the facilites and the next people that will use the restrooms. so i dont travel far, and if i have to go, i honestly wait until i get home. the hole not setting on the seat completly makes me think ill piss on my pants!!!!!!

There's nothing wrong with it, when you gotta go, you've gotta go, but it's gross most times you'd rather use it outside, and I've made that choice before. Try a McDonald's instead.........

No I see nothing wrong with it. When you gotta go...you gotta go. Plus when traveling by car on vacation, they are the perfect place to go.

I do it all the time.... HAHA!
There's no point in risk getting a UTI... I say suck it up & hover!!
As long as you carry antibacterial stuff for after you leave, it's very safe & practical :)
