How far away is your formal. I would use an anti baterial soap from the chemist (Gamophen is one) I would see my GP and get a course of antibiotics (acne is caused through a bacterial infection). Use a loofah to remove dead skin once every 2 - 3 days. If the acne is not extremely bad a spray tan will help to hide the marks

Or instead of a long backless dress you could try a short high necked dress. They are very sophisticated and sexy.

Or wear a satin shawl or a mesh scarf over your shoulders

If the acne is mainly under your bra straps, then get some bras that are 100% cotton. The cotton will absorb the dirt and oils better than a synthetic material.
Invest in some products for body acne. You'll need an oil free body wash with salicylic acid. Get some wipes that you could carry to school. Run to the bathroom once or twice a day to do a quick-clean on your back and under your bra straps. It will help remove the dirt and oils, less chance of clogging your pores and contributing to acne. Also, look into spot treatments, i.e. acne cream.
Purse straps, backpack straps, tight clothing can all contribute to the acne. Stay away from Spandex and Lycra shirts, the friction and lack of breath-ability are bad for your skin. Cotton or cotton blends are better.
For a formal dress, you shouldn't have to look like everybody else. In fact, it's better to not have the same dress as another girl. Wearing a dress with a back won't make you look odd. There are plenty of styles that look young and flattering without going strapless or backless. A full back dress doesn't mean old, or ugly. And I doubt that "everyone" wears backless dresses.
Mesh is big this fall, maybe a dress with a mesh overlay that covers would help hide the blemishes. A sleeveless dress with a high neck would cover your back, but leave your arms bare.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

I have this same problem, but because I have a polyester uniform for work that traps sweat in. To get rid of it try any of the acne washes out there if it is a particularly bad case you might want to get something perscription from your doctor, use the product for at least six weeks before you give up on it, because most cures will take that long to fully kick in. Once you are treating it try to think of what might be the cause, try wearing more natural fibers (cotton is always good) instead of synthetic and always shower after activities that make you sweat (working out, etc.)

Have someone put acne lotion on your back twice a day and maybe expose it to some sunshine for 5-10 min a day, if that doesn't work, don't wear a backless gown if the acne is THAT bad. I don't believe everyone is wearing backless I have seen alot of great dresses that aren't

You need to change your diet.

The best way to get rid of acne...eat dark leafy green vegetables every day. You can even make a veggie smoothie in your blender.

Cut out beef. Beef is very acidic and can cause acne.
Cut out coffee if you drink it.

Take some herbs for skin: red clover, dandelion root powder.

Eat parsley and fresh green spinach leaves.

Acne isn't caused by dirty pores...it is caused by a diet which is too acidic (not enough green vegetables which are alkaline).

use an acne medication on your back. if that doesn't work, have a friend put some make up on it on prom night. no one will be staring at your back like it's a two-headed multicolored dinosaur with crab legs. it's your prom night, HAVE FUN!

i might want to assert, you should upload him as a pal on myspace. Theres not something incorrect which includes your pal telling him you imagine hes lovable, thats if she did that in any respect. because you're shy, you should message him on myspace to get the ball rolling. only deliver a message like "howdy howdy? Its humorous how we shop operating into one yet another lol :)" or something like that. shop it short and sweet. It receives him questioning no matter if you're fascinated. If hes fascinated in you, he will stumble on extra. it truly is a staggering way for you to get him wondering about you.
