I had a friend apparently searching for lots of pornographic terms on Yahoo! and Google when he was staying over. I want these off my computer.

Just to clarify...I mean on the actual web sites, not a toolbar I downloaded.

Actually I'm an adult who babysits young children and due to this person's irresponsibility I find myself in a bind. They use the computer when they're over and I DO NOT want them running across this.

I'm not talking about the Tools option...I know how to do that. I mean when you go to Yahoo.com, type something into search, and a past history shows up. I don't mean the internet address bar.

You can delete the history of search bar on ur homepage (whatever it is either Yahoo! or Google) by following this path. Tools> internet options> content> auto complete> clear forms. To stop the generation of history uncheck the box of forms.
You can delete the search history on ur yahoo toolbar this way. click the arrow in the search box. Select options, click clear history. Follow this path also. Pencil> toolbar options> uncheck the boxes of enable auto complete and enable history> ok.
To delete address bar history, follow this path. Tools> internet options> general > clear history > set the number of days to zero> ok.

To erase your history, hit tools...then hit internet options. Once you do that a window comes up that says, home/ temporary internet files/ history. go to temporary internet files and hit delet cookies & delete files then go the the history section and put zero in the box and hit clear your history. This should clear your history. The clearing of the cookies and files will stop a lot of the porn pop-ups.

Click on tools above, click on Internet Options, click on clear history and since you are there you might as well click on delete cookies and delete files, it will not harm or damage anything, I have done this many times. This is really good to do once and a while or as often as you like. Good luck.

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.

click on tools on the toolbar, then click browser options then click where it says to delete URLs and then delete the searches. Also click on the Internet properties under tools and delete cookies and clear temporary Internet pages.

Go to 'tools' and click internet options and then delete history (both online and offline) and then delete cookies and files. It's actually really easy. Good luck!

Just go into tools > internet options > clear history. Then it should pause for a second and then you're clean!
