I started having sex two months ago, but I have been on birth control for over 6 months previously. I have never missed a pill. I've also had my regular periods at the normal heaviness. Recently I have started feeling "weird" though and I am getting sick a lot. Could I be pregnant, or am I just worrying entirely too much? Also, will home pregnancy tests work if I am still taking my birth control pills?

You might just have a stomach virus or food poisoning... but you can also be pregnant. Go out and buy an HPT. An HPT will still work if you are on your birth control. Just make sure to read the directions in the box... there are some ingredients in certain medications that can alter the results... the instructions gives you a little list in the Q&A. Good luck!!

If you worry too much you could be causing stress which causes pregnancy like symptoms. Go to a drugstore where you know you won't be spotted. Head to a the nearest bathroom say, Starbucks. Take the tests and wait for the result.

But the only way to be sure is with a blood test. You can't dispute the results of one of those. You can get that at your doctors office or a clinic, but be sure to request it.

If you really do think you are pregnant , whether or not you want the kid, stop taking the pill and stop having sex. Settle the situation immediately until you know what your status is. You could harm the unborn if you want to keep it and harm yourself it even if you don't.

OMG i am feeling the same thing.......

I have heard of women getting pregnant while being on the pill, and taking them regularly. I have also been feeling like i am pregnant. I have suuuuuper light periods, and for the last couple of weeks i have been feeling something muscle spasms in my lower stomach region. I keep telling myself it's muscle spasms, but i swear to God it feels like fluttering (I have had two kids so i can tell the difference between baby movements and gas) So i don't know i have taken an at home pregnancy test and it came back negative and i was also wondering if the hormones int he pill will counteract with the ones that make you show up pregnant.

But, if you read up on the pill, it has some side affects, and nausea is one of them. So if you want to have an accurate reading for pregnancy make an appt with your OBGYN and get a blood test. That is the MOST accurate and will tell you the true results.

The human body is a weird thing.

I went to babycenter.com and looked up pregnancy symptoms. If more than a couple of these fit you, please take a preggo test. Also maybe call a nurse hotline and ask them if being on the pill will skew the preggo test.

First of all I applaud you for being very responsible. The bad news is that I have heard of women who got pregnant while using the pill correctly. Occasionally there are women it just doesn't work for. Also there are some medications that can lessen the effectiveness of them, antibiotics for one. Go ahead and take the pregnancy test. If it is positive get a Dr. appointment. Prenatal care is very important. It is also very possible that you are just nervous about the possibility. Maybe some people may think me old fashioned for saying this but I believe that you should only be having sex with someone who you could happily be with the rest of your life preferably your husband.

You usually won't start feeling sick until you are about 1 month pregnant. Home pregnancy tests test the level of the hormone HCG in your urine and this will show up even if you are on the pill. Keep track of when you should be getting your period next and if you are a few days late get a test.

You can get pregnant while on the pill but it's very rare if you are taking it correctly.

There is a possibility u could be pregnant..Have u missed a period?? What I would do is take the clear blue pregnancy test it worked for me and if it comes out negative and ur still feeling "weird" for a week i would go to the doctor...Remember that birth control is 99% so there is always that 1% of gettin pregnant..good luck...

BC pills will not effect the results of a pregnancy test. If you miss your period take a test other wise relax and dont stress out until there is something to stress over. BC pills are 99% effective and if you are taking it everyday at or around the same time and not on antibiotics you are probably fine.
