Invisible Strangers
Afraid of showing who we really are,
We turn to those unknown.
Allowing our true colors to shine through the fog,
We tell the secrets hidden below.
Those unknown can not hurt us with rumor,
Or stab us in the back with shame.
To feel secure we must be released,
But only unknown strangers may permit.
Neither family nor friend may be trusted.
Not wishing to let them down.
The pain of being known is dreaded.
The pain of being unknown is worse.
