I've been unfortunate enough to have that job...
Yes, you can curse at them, and no, they can not curse at you... if they do, you can sue them.
If you curse at them enough, they can hang up the call.
Clearly state that you wish to be added to the do not call list. If you get any other calls from telemarketers, more than a week later, it is illegal under most circumstances. If it is a survey, it is legal, but be careful... if it is a very short survey asking if you are married and your income, etc, they are probably going to try to sell you a vacuum cleaner later (this is true)

Yes, if they call your house you are allowed to use whatever langauge you want. I used to get those calls until I signed up for the National Do Not Call List. I used to have fun with them. I can make my voice sound just like an old man.....they would go into their 2 minute sentance without taking a breath and I would answer with the old man voice, "Huh? You're gonna have to speak up I can't hear you!" They would usually hang up but if they were persistant and went through it again I would repeat myself.:)
I also used to tell them I would never do business with someone that called me at home. I would also tell them I am interested but I need their home phone number in case I have a problem with the service or item & I had to be able to confirm the phone number. I kinda miss those days.

You really shouldn't curse at all , but they can be/are annoying. I usually hang up the phone, but if they really piss me off i give them a few choice words, ask to speak to their "stupidvisor" tell them off, & tell them to put me on the DO NOT CALL LIST. Being placed on 1 do not call list actually stops like 3 annoying telemarketer calls (as they share info.)

My husband and I hung a stopwatch by the kitchen phone a few years back, and had an ongoing contest to see who could get the telemarketers to hang up on US the fastest! :D
We tried many different methods, including profanity, the whistle, etc.
Most effective, however, was simply asking the caller if they knew that Jesus Christ has a plan for their life ......
:D
They hang up right away, and they don't call back!

Sure you can it's your phine, you can say whatever you want. Also, if you record a conversation with a telemarketing company telling them not to call your house and they call you again anyways, you can contact the FCC and sue for tens of thousands of dollars.

If you are called by a telemarketer remember they are just trying to earn a living. Just ask them to remove you from their calling list. Being polite and understanding is also a normal human activity

As far as I'm concerned, it's open season on telemarketers. You can say anything to them you want to. It's more fun to be creative though, and calling them names is too boring. You can ask them to hold, and never come back. You can play "head games" with them, making them think you are falling for their racket. Or just make up total BS and rant and rave. You could even try to sell them something in return. Be annoying, and they'll hang up on you. That's MUCH more fun.

I do it all the time. Even though I'm on the "Do Not Call" list, there are still some that are allowed and I give them an earful every time. If we all did that, we could get rid of the inconsiderate s-o-b's.

Yeah, but I wouldn't do that!! They have that job in order to pay their bills, I'm sure they would not actually WANT to be a telemarketer. Just tell them kindly and nicely, "No, thank you, I already have one of those." Or something like that.
