Do you clench and grind your teeth? You would know if you do. If so and you do it on your back teeth on the side that hurts it could be you've irritated the nerves there including one close to your ear causing the pain.

Or it could be that you have an ear infection too...perhaps deep inside and that could be felt in your jaw and teeth...hard to say which but get checked out for both. For sure the dentist can make you a mouthpiece for sleep which would prevent the damage and allow the nerve to heal. Don't wait as you can actually cause serious and permanent damage to your nerves and teeth if that is what it is.

And yes, someone said it could be listening to loud music...kids today just don't realize these mp3 players can cause serious and permanent hearing loss. Listening to very loud music can cause TINITIS (a ringing in the ear which is permanent) and very loud music can cause serious pain like that which you are experiencing.

If you work in a very loud noise setting or are a receptionist and the phone is loud or the thingy in your ear is very loud that do it too since you tend to listen in the one ear all the time.

Of course it could be that you didn't get the right antibiotic and your ear didn't clear up and is worse. Any of the above are possibilities.

I know exactly what it is. Its TMJ. I forget what that stands for, but you can look it up , its your jaw. I went thru that 5 yrs ago after a car wreck and they thought I had an ongoing ear infection or sinus infection. Itll cause pain in the ear, the jaw and the teeth on the side its effected. I went to my ear nose and throat doctor to finally get diagnosed, and then they sent me to the orthodontist where they made a splint for me to wear, its like a retainer, you wear it in your mouth, but its to help that jaw. Does your jaw click, does it hurt to open your mouth wider? You could have a broken tooth back there too. Good luck, I hope you figure it out.

you could be having Tinitus as already described by another blogger. So will not rpt.
Another problem is well known and is OTITIS. It is the inflamation of the inner ear via what is called an eustachian tube.
There is a bacteria called Pseudomonas which can live in sub zero conditions like ice.
They cause this infection and should be treated with antibiotics like Ampicillin and Cloaxacillin.

I had the same thing. teeth, ear, and jaw hurt. I ended up having a bad sinus infection and needed two doses of antibiotics to clear it up.

You may not have an ear problem at all, your teeth could be causing the whole problem. Maybe check with your dentist.

Don't ask us these medical questions! Stick with your physician. The next thing you know people will be advising you to try this and try that! Don't listen to these fools or we'll hear about you on the 6 o'clock news!

You could be sleeping with your ears bent or holding your mouth down hard. You might need a night guard for your mouth

Could be a tooth, but it sounds more like a sinus infection. You know, you have sinuses running all over in your face.

your ears drain in tubes that go along the the back corners of your jaw and down the side of your neck , if your lymphatic system is not draining correctly it can cause pressure and pain
