i am from NY so i have the correct answere.
NY Yankees are from the Bronx because that is were their stadium is located and they represent the American league.
The NEW YORK METS are from Queens were their stadium is located butt hey represent the National League and most of the world. Most teams that have enaugh money have two teams. like in the NFL NY is represented by the GIANTS, JETS and the BILLS.
in NHL is the Rangers, Islanders and the Sabres. SO NY has alot of money so the can afford all this teams.

greater so the city the place the team is popular. No team represents a state - even the Rangers, Rockies and Diamondbacks. till the state lends money to the team for stadium shape or advancements, the states haven't any financial investment in communities that are placed interior of their obstacles. cities and states obtain tax earnings from the sales of the communities and concessions offered on the stadiums. communities are owned by billionaires who're in it for the money and glory. gamers come from all over the U. S. and countless different remote places international locations followers dwelling interior the cities and states the place communities are placed help the communities monetarily and emotionally. while a team wins the international sequence, the city shares interior the social gathering.

It is my opinion that both teams represent New York City. In most sports the team is named for the city in which they play their home games but in some cases the team represents a state such as; Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies, Florida Marlins, Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers or a region such as Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Tampa Bay is a region that includes Bradenton, Brandon, Dunedin, St. Petersburg, Tampa and the other communities in that region...

NY Yankees represent their city, New York.
However, fans and spectators come from many surrounding areas.
They can come from New York state and New Jersey.
The Yankees probably have more fans from outside NY than any baseball team.
The Boston Redsox probably have the second biggest fan base from outside their metro area.
