Women wear lingerie for many reasons, and lingerie is a term used for women's underwear, not just sexy "out-to-seduce-him" items. Lingerie can mean bras, panties, nightgowns, or anything else women might wear.
Look it up in a dictionary, it's from the French word meaning linen, since good quality women's undergarments were made of linen. Corsets, camisoles, petticoats, nightgowns, etc...
For modern day sex-wear, we love it because:
1. Makes us feel more sexy, attractive, feminine, or all of the above.
2. Men love a hint of mystery in their women, nude leaves nothing to the imagination, and plain cotton isn't always seductive.
3. Adds a bit of spice to your romantic life. A change of pace every so often can be fun.
4. You can "play" at being something you normally aren't. A demure women at the office could still wear black lace in the bedroom.
5. After several years of marriage, many couples find the spark beginning to die. This is just one way people like to keep it from dieing out.

Although there is love present there needs to be sex because they kinda work hand in hand. When you wear some sexy lingerie, and you look sexy and irrestible then if he's been kinda drifting from you that will remind him why he needs to stay!!
