My friends at church.

No one. However, if I were to come out, I would hope that my friend Eddie would be supportive--he seems like an open-minded kind of guy. My entire family would probably do everything short of disowning me, assuming they would stop at that. Most of them are Christian Conservatives. Fun.

Not sure about my high-school friends. I can think of only two who might be supportive--or at least somewhat tolerant--but they're still iffy.

So, if I were to come out right now, or when I turn 18 (which would be wiser), I would have to be prepared to fend for myself and expect no support from anyone I know. To me, that just seems easier than hoping everyone you know will instantly be supportive and then be let down because no one is--or a limited number, at least.

A pessimistic view, I know, but it helps dull the pain sometimes.

I found that my mother and brother were supportive. Mother said that she had hoped for grandchildren at some time but that Gwen was a lovely person so as we had known each other for 3 years , then treat each other kindly and be happy. My brother was there for me when I sought help after Gwen's tragic death and her family's treatment.
Answers readers have given me a great deal of support also.
I trust that you will find support should you need it.

Taking everything into consideration? My family. I have quite a few casual friends and a few close ones, but I would say even the close ones are not those who I would considered supportive. I keep my orientation to myself. Lost one of my oldest and dearest friends due in part to coming out to her and don't ever want to go through such a horrible experience again. I get a lot though out of this web site.

My family, my friends, associates I work with, my community, my son's friends and their parents, my co-cast members...most of the people I associate with are supportive.
I don't have patience for non-supportive or hate mongers. I'm too old and too cynical for their ignorance.

My fiancee is very supportive of me. She loves me and believes I can accomplish anything,...now if only I had that much confidence in myself I'd be okay.
