you should pump the one that give less milk more often if you pump every couple of hours -- pump the one every 30 minutes in the mornings then every hour until it builds up i had the same issues with my baby he was in nicu for a week before i could nurse him and i had to build up my milk supply
hang in there it will get better use lanolin on your nipples it really helps things go smoother and more comfortably

I pumped b/c my daughter was premature also. I always got more milk from one breast than the other. I really don't know why it happens that way, but even without pumping the one giving less more frequently, I was still able to maintain pumping the entire 79 days she was there, and then another almost 2 weeks.
I hope your son comes home from the NICU soon. He'll be in my prayers.

Your last child may have preferred one side (the one that's producing all the milk). Keep pumping and when your little one is ready to feed from mom put he/she on the side that is making the least first every time (invest in the lanolin now!). It happened to me, too.

you may convey milk including your palms no longer you may't convey adequate milk including your palms to feed somewhat one! in case you % to grant toddler milk w/o certainly making use of the breasts you will possibly desire to pump and in case you assume to do it any long quantity of time you're able to desire to purchase a good double electric powered pump. while you're disturbing approximately what breastfeeding will do on your breasts then you definately shouldn't pump the two b/c the outcomes could be the same.

Good for you for making the commitment to provide your little one with your milk!
It's normal for one breast to produce more than the other. Just like most people have one hand or one foot that is larger than the other, many mothers have one breast that is larger or produces more milk.

if you would pump them both at the same about of time, you should get the same amount, also try expressing by hand the breast that isn't producing milk, it will extract and begin to produce more milk, talk to your dr, he/she may have other ways to help production of the milk glads......... good luck
