I have read and alot of signs that are PMS are also Pregnancy ones as well. What for you were different signs that made you know it was pregnancy, not just PMS? I am TTC and I feel like I have PMS but have felt pregnant for 2 weeks. I have been having cramps about a week after ovulation, and my boobs/nipples hurt and are very veiny. Also,I took a HPT and it was negative, but my LMP was 7/25,ovulated Aug. 6th. What are the chances it is just not high enough levels of HCG,and when would you test? Thanks!!

I've never been pregnant, but am currently waiting to find out if I am (ovulated on 8/10). The symptoms you listed could very well be early pregnancy symptoms. Cramps a week after ovulation could have been implantation cramps. Implantation takes place anywhere from 6-12 days after ovulation and then it takes another few days for hCG to start being secreted. It can then take another couple of days for it to build up enough in your system to be detected on a hpt. On the website below, it says that hCG can be detected in the blood 3-4 days after implantation takes place and it takes another 2-3 days after that for it to be detected on a urine test (hpt). So, if the egg implanted a week after ovulation (when you experienced cramping), you should be able to get a accurate result on a hpt within the next couple of days. hCG does take longer to build up in some women, so if you continue to test negative but still have pregnancy symptoms and don't get your period, either keep testing or go get a blood test as they can detect hCG earlier than hpts. Also, be sure to test with your first morning urine as hCG will be most concentrated. First Response hpts can also detect the lowest level of hCG, so you might want to try that test if you haven't already. You can check www.peeonastick.com to see which tests are the most sensitive.

Good luck!

The first symptom that I noticed with my first was that I was a little queasy. With my second I was slightly lightheaded. The sore breasts were for both but not for a couple weeks after I found out. I would give it a week and then check with an over the counter pregnancy test. With my first pregnancy the line on the test was so light it was gray. I went to my Dr. assuming that I was not pregnant but she informed me that any shade of the line means that you are pregnant. 5 days later the line was very dark. So, yes I think it could be too early. Try in five days, a week whatever. Just give it a little more time for the hormone to jump. I think home pregnancy tests work best when they are tested with the first morning's urine and when they are five days (at the most) before your period. Good Luck and keep your chin up- it'll happen eventually if not right now :)

Every pregnancy is going to be different from the next. On average... it takes about 2 weeks (if your testing by blood) or 3 weeks (if you are testing with a HPT). But every woman is going to be different... when my friend was pregnant... she kept getting negative tests up until she was 6 weeks into the pregnancy. Try taking a test in about another week or so. Good luck!!

How do you feel pregnant??? If your nipples hurt, you may be. If you took a test and it came back negative, give it a week or so and test again. Home tests are designed to recognize levels that aren't usually present until after your first missed period. Like I said, I'd give it another week and then test again, just to make sure. If you want to go to the doctor and have them take a blood sample you won't have to wait until your first missed period, it shows on blood tests almost immediately. I hope that helped.

Sounds to me like you might be pregnant. One of the first things my husband noticed in me was the veiny breasts. Also I realized how tired I was feeling without a reason. I would go to a Dr. to have them do a pregnancy test. I have heard of home pregnancy tests not being right. Good luck and if you are Congratulations!!!

Pregnancy symptoms differ from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy; however, one of the most significant pregnancy symptoms is a delayed or missed menstrual cycle. Understanding pregnancy symptoms is important because each symptom may be related to something other than pregnancy. Some women experience pregnancy symptoms within a week of conception. For other women, symptoms may develop over a few weeks or may not be present at all. Below is a listing of some of the most common pregnancy symptoms.

Implantation Bleeding:
Implantation bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. About 6-12 days after conception, the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall. Some women will experience spotting as well as some cramping.

Other Explanations: Actual menstruation, altered menstruation, changes in birth control pill, infection, or abrasion from intercourse.

Delay/Difference in Menstruation:
A delayed or missed menstruation is the most common pregnancy symptom leading a woman to test for pregnancy. When you become pregnant, your next period should be missed. Many women can bleed while they are pregnant, but typically the bleeding will be shorter or lighter than a normal period. This symptom is commonly explained by other reasons. If you have been sexually active and have missed a period, it is recommended that you take a test: Order my pregnancy test

Other Explanations: Excessive weight gain/loss, fatigue, hormonal problems, tension, stress, ceasing to take the birth control pill, or breast-feeding.

Swollen/Tender Breasts:
Swollen or tender breasts is a pregnancy symptom which may begin as early as 1-2 weeks after conception. Women may notice changes in their breasts; they may be tender to the touch, sore, or swollen.

Other Explanations: Hormonal imbalance, birth control pills, impending menstruation (PMS) can also cause your breasts to be swollen or tender.

Fatigue/Tiredness:
Feeling fatigued or more tired is a pregnancy symptom which can also start as early as the first week after conception.

Other Explanations: Stress, exhaustion, depression, common cold or flu, or other illnesses can also leave you feeling tired or fatigued.

Nausea/Morning Sickness:
This well-known pregnancy symptom will often show up between 2-8 weeks after conception. Some women are fortunate to not deal with morning sickness at all, while others will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Food poisoning, stress, or other stomach disorders can also cause you to feel queasy.

Backaches:
Lower backaches may be a symptom that occurs early in pregnancy; however, it is common to experience a dull backache throughout an entire pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Impending menstruation, stress, other back problems, and physical or mental strains.

Headaches:
The sudden rise of hormones in your body can cause you to have headaches early in pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Dehydration, caffeine withdrawal, impending menstruation, eye strain, or other ailments can be the source of frequent or chronic headaches.

Frequent Urination:
Around 6-8 weeks after conception, you may find yourself making a few extra trips to the bathroom.

Other Explanations: Urinary tract infection, diabetes, increasing liquid intake, or taking excessive diuretics.

Darkening of Areolas:
If you are pregnant, the skin around your nipples may get darker.

Other Explanations: Hormonal imbalance unrelated to pregnancy or may be a leftover effect from a previous pregnancy.

Food Cravings:
While you may not have a strong desire to eat pickles and ice cream, many women will feel cravings for certain foods when they are pregnant. This can last throughout your entire pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Poor diet, lack of a certain nutrient, stress, depression, or impending menstruation.

Your Next Steps:
Experiencing these symptoms? Order my pregnancy test.
