Phenomenoms that emerge in life aside the simple mechanism of evolution by which the best adapted species survives. For example, in essence, its not necessary for young tigers to enjoy fighting between each other, but they do. On second thought, its kind of necessary, because that way they practice hunting, but still makes you wonder about the things in life that emerge without an immediate utilitarian explanation.

yes , it is all too perfect isn't it, just looking at any eco-system, as insignificant as seems, it plays a huge part in the bigger schemes, which rely on those tiny systems to survive

what you stated about phenomenoms is entirely lacking in your example. survival and phenomenoms are totally different basing on it's description...

a phenomenom is something extra-ordinary in event. something undeniably there, but an impact of its existence brings bewilderment to us.

survival is the matter of making the most of events, fighting for existence to live.

animals instinct in their survival is inherent to them. it's not a phenomenom. it's rather their instinct to survive their habitat. place them on a different environment and they would be tame. and trained for that matter.

phenomena occurs if something occurs that may be significant or totally out of it's order. if a tiger rears a lion, that's phenomena. if an elephant mates a giraffe, that is phenomena...

so you see, it's survival you're describing. their natural instinct in order to live.....

Personally I think that it isn't "phenomena" at all. Species react and adapt to their environment. Environments change over time. Those species that adapt and change survive; those who don't die out. I can't wait to see all of the animals who've been abused in circuses, especially elephants, suddenly realize that they have the upper hand and all they have to do is stomp the crap out of their abusive trainers. Ziegfried and Roy's tiger had the right idea.

I know the answer to this question. It is believed that animals, humans included feel joy when they play with each other because as they have evolved it is beneficial for them to learn how to defend themselves. In tigers they play fight to learn to hunt in the future in humans it is a little different, they role play when they are little to learn how to deal with social situations when they are older, e.g. dress ups, or tea parties etc. It seems bizarre that the reason we might have the emotion of joy is because it has evolved to be beneficial

I think you re on the right road but life doesn't exist merely to prove that the theory of evolution is right or wrong.
