I don't have a photo album, but my mum just mailed me a picture she found in the cupboard back home with me and a few of my friends when I was in elementary school. I look like quite dorky...I like to think that has changed, but I can never be certain...

I am just happy to not have a complete album of these sorts of pictures!

Unfortunately, for some of us it's only there to remind us of how much better we USED to look, and how much we've aged.

It can be very sad.

It's to help preserve memories, so some day you can look back and have a great feeling about who you are and the things that you have done during your life.

Actually, that's what high school yearbooks are for. Family photo albums are your mother's tool for stripping away any vestige of self she senses you cling to.

No, that's not their purpose. It's just a wonderful side benefit. Don't be guity about how you used to look, be glad that you don't look like that anymore.
