In light of the recent "confession" of John Karr to the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, why do people confess to something (a crime particularly) they knowingly did not commit.

What was he about to get nailed for in Thailand? Confess to a high profile crime back home, get a free flight home and miss out on some other countries criminal system for some other crime. Back home plead not guilty and get off. Beat both raps and home for free. Crooks are not always as dumb as politicians.

For the attention mostly. Maybe Karr did do it and by giving a lot of false answers he is creating reasonable doubt. He is either a weird murderer, or a weird lier.

Karr has outsmarted the morons at Homeland Security, law enforcement officials, and all of us who want to see this tragic case solved. Probably facing charges that might put him in a Thai jail, he confessed to a high-profile murder case, returned to the U.S.A. compliments of the American taxpayers, will be tried and found 'not guilty', will go free to molest and rape other little girls, write a book that turns into a blockbuster movie, and retire in luxury in Sri Lanka. -RKO-

american tv is stupid, they broadcast the case EVERNIGHT for like 15-20 minutes. and yet they didn't even MENTION the meeting of IAU in Prague and that we mgiht get 3 mor eplanets.
