The fuel filter is the water separator. The bottom of the filter should unscrew to allow you to drain the water from the filter. Be sure to have a container ready to catch the drainage. You don't want to get diesel and water all over.

Listen to Thomas S. The Fuel filter and the water seperator are one unit. They are directly on the top of the engine. If you look just to the left of the fuel filter housing there will be a small red lever. This lever is rotated to drain the fuel filter housing which contains the water in fuel sensor. Drain the fuel out of the housing with the lever, and that should take care of your problem.

On that old beast, there is a fuel filter AND a water separator.
The fuel filter is up on top of the engine. It looks like a short oil filter. The ware separator is located in a canister with a clear reservoir on the firewall, below the power brake unit, just about where the parking brake pedal would be.
It has a drain valve on the bottom and can be easily bled. The hard part is getting to it.

Chevy's are not something to rave about. I certainly imagine they're products of crap. Fords are ok. they'd be my 2d selection. My first selection, and my advice, is Ram automobiles. you could get a Ram 2500 or 3500 power wagon. The 2500 comes with a V8 gas engine yet is on the marketplace with the Cummins Diesel. The 3500 comes with a familiar diesel. certainly the recent Ram automobiles are a lot extra constructive than the former ones. you could extremely take one for a try force. i imagine you'll like them. yet when not, flow with the Ford truthfully.
