My birth certificate wasn't even in the county I was born in. It was at the state capitol. I called up someone in Olympia and they said that they could give my a state certified copy of my birth certificate for about $10 (or something like that. I don't remember the exact price).

funny how some people dont even understand the question and they are answering... with no sense.
She wants the certificate from the state she was born - thats obvious - she just moved so she doesnt live there anymore. She didnt say she wasnt born there ... duh!!
Back to the subject - you can do it online in some cities or over the phone then mail. You need to check the specific requirements in your town/city of birth. I would google for it.

You can only get a birth certificate from the state you were born in.
You can mail the county clerk office in the county you were born in for a copy, but you will need to verify your idenity. Try calling for information specifc to your state.

I just got a copy of my birth certificate last week. I went to the health department for that county. I showed my drivers license. Get on line and find their number and call them to see what you need to do to get it through the mail.

call the county court house that you were born in to start, the will probaly help you or tell you to call the public records place in that city, some cities have both in the same building that why you call the court house first and tell them you are trying to get your birth certificate. you will have to probaly get some forms sent to you in the mail but ask them can you download them off the net and if so where. send the forms back to them with the money and wait till it comes in the mail.

Easy, just call or write to the city where you were born and ask for their records department, they will send you the necessary paperwork to get your birth certificate, the cities handle this not the states.

Call or write the state you was born in. You will need two forms of ID. They will send you a form to fill out and you will send it back with copies of the ID's and the money to pay for it. Check or Money Order. Not cash.

You can go online or call and find out what is needed to obtain your birth certificate. It is fairly simple.
There is a chance you may have to fax them a photo of your drivers license.
