If your looking to unfactor it, do this:

4(z+6)

Use the distributive property:

4 times "z" = 4z

4 times 6 = 24

Put the sign in the middle of those and you get this:

4z+24

4(z+6) = 4z + 24
You multiply the thing on the outside (4) by each thing on the inside.
4*z + 4*6 = 4z + 24

4(z+6)= 4z + 24

perhaps you are looking for the derivitive, in which f(z) = 4z + 24, where the derivitive, f'(z) = 4
