Quite possibly.

They are experiencing exponential economic growth, which is estimated to have them as "The" worlds economic super-power within 25 years time.

It has long been described as the 'sleeping giant,' it's had a fairly unlucky run over the last century, but things are starting to come right.

They are able to boast that they have had the longest lasting empire in the world, and have alot of pride interwined with their culture.

As a military power they have the largest land-based army, and are a notable military power already, imagine 25 years from now.

These are just a few thoughts, I cannot say with absolute certainty.

There are some possilities that it could happen, but I will tell you why it cannot be possible. Although China GDP is growing at an astonishing rate, economist specualte that it is not a good thing b/c it will overheat itself (The dot-com era hint..hint). China policies are still bind with communism ideas, which is far from the system that work best, up till now, capitalism. China definitely have the potential to improve the living standard, but to be the strongest nation, its need alliance. And that will be difficult b/c it is still a communist country and many rich countries would not want a communist country to be the leading nation. Hence they depise communist (WW2).

No.

On the one hand, China is too busy oppressing its own minorities.

On the other hand, Chinese military might is not quite what the Chinese government wants everyone to believe it is. Twice in the 1980s (1981 and 1983), China tried to attack Vietnam, a much smaller country, and was beaten back both times.

Finally, politically unified China is an exception, not a rule. Chinese history knows many unifiers, but ultimately all unifications failed. There is no reason to believe this one is going to be different.

As they are a communist country i don't think so, communism only works in thought not in reality, greedy people running a even greedier country. They are however making an odd step forward, capitalism in a Communist country. hmm people can make there own money but the government still can take it all away if they wanted. That being said i don't think "government" is good yet ether. It all really comes down to who's in charge. You should watch or would have to buy "CHINA RISES" on DVD from the discovery channel.

no...unless they can pulled their act together...you see, china has a lot of individuals who are actually acting for their own benefits rather than as a whole unit....so it's quite difficult to achieve something so great unless they can stop those corruptions and those "self rule" laws in smaller provinces...
