We only topple governments when there is something to be gained for us. Like the oil in Iraq.

We tried once. It was called the "Bay of Pigs". The United States armed and trained many Cuban exiles as soldiers. These exiles attempted to surprise Castro and his army with a night invasion. Unfortunately, Castro knew about the imminent attack and his army was waiting for the exiles. His army ripped them to pieces. So I guess your answer is: we tried and failed. And the United States has actually installed many more dicatators than we have removed. During the Cold War, the logic was that it was better to have a dictator who wouldn't become a communist than a freely elected leader whose alliegance we didn't know. As Churchill said of Stalin in WWII: "He's a tyrant, but dammit, he's OUR tyrant." Don't get too caught up in whole spreading democracy to the world thing. We've actually hindered it far more than helped it.

Our government only gets involved it stuff to benifit its self. Don't think our government gives a **** about the Iraq citizens, its a war for oil in an effort to keep the rich peoples pockets fat. Tell me of a war we fought for a good cause. We stayed the hell out of world war 2 until Japan attacked pearl harbor. Then we droped nuclear bombs on Japan and killed thousands and thousands of innocent people. Look at how we react to the thought of someone else using nuclear weapons. We are the only country that has used them on someone.

It is hypocrisy and such a question should be addressed to our dear president Bush!! Ask him how come you only play the cards in favour to your economy and your image rather then for the sake of humanity! Otherwise I personal favour Fidel Castro and think he is a great person, we might not share the same views, but unlike the American president he does what is good for HIS PEOPLE rather then HIMSELF!

Because the USA doesn't have interests in Cuba. What does Cuba have, besides agriculture (where we can get elsewhere) and prostitution (which we have here at home)?

Because Cuba is too close to our shores and the war would really impact our homelands.
