I feel they are a useful intervention for a ready recipient,
but do not go far enough or deep enough for long term
change to be possible, to really address the issues that
caused the person to misuse the substance they are
trying to use no more.
I would recommend further exploration with ongoing psychotherapy, probably based on the psychodynamic
and relational 'schools' ( client centered / Humanistic ).

As long as the program was something that was going to help me, and as long as the steps were `doable' I would like any program that was going to back up my good intentions.
