How many of you women actually run to the doctor when you a little period problem? I'm not trying to be offensive, but some people on YAHOO Answers post their slight menstrual problems, get worried, and everyone tells them to see a doc asap. Are people actually that timid?
I've had severe pain in my lower belly for the past year. The pain is so bad it travels down my leg and into my back, yet I haven't brought this to the attention of a doc. In fact, I haven't had a physical in 5 years.

That is your business if you want to die. Maybe some others don't. Just don't read the question if you don't like it.

All those others are the ones that keep the doctors in their day to day pocket change by running to them for every little thing. We are so paranoid these days that at the slightest little hitch we run to the doctor.
On the other hand, it's people like you that make the doctors really rich. You are the type that potentially has a severe problem and because you may be afraid of what the doctor will tell you, you don't go to see them and then wind up with something so severe that it takes a small national debt to pay the doctor bill to get you well again.
You should have at least an annual physical and if you have a severe pain that has lasted a year, you should have been to the doctor about 9 months ago to find out why.
I really do hope it isn't anything serious but you should find out either way.
Good luck

"see a doctor" is the safest answer. Maybe some people don't want to give advice on what they think might be the problem because they don't want to feel responsible if they tell a person 'nah- it's not a big deal, you're fine' then come to find out it was a big deal.
And a lot of times the person asking the question doesn't really give all the details needed to get an accurate answer so people just tell them to see a Dr. Honestly, a lot of times I think someone should be sitting in a Dr's office rather than asking what seems to be a serious medical question on here.
You know your body best- so listen to it. I truly believe that if you think that this pain you have is something to be concerned over, you'll go to the right person.

Little period problems can = infertility or cancer. Unlike men like yourself, we take our health seriously and like to look after it and prevent problems from happening in the future. Severe pain in your lower belly, do you realise how common stomach cancer is becoming? It's not something to turn a blind eye to.

I imagine that many people here are young ladies that do not yet have all the facts. They are probably scared and embarrassed to talk to an adult...it is my hope that they can find the confidence they need to get the answers they are looking for.

Maybe these people that "run to the doctor" are doing just what they should. Just because you don't seem to care about your health, doesn't mean other people don't.

It could be nothing. It could be ovarian cancer.
Should I save the "see a Doctor"?

ummm --- who gives a flying fu*k! if you don't wanna read it, then don't. just like you don't care about people's period issues, they probably don't care about your "lower belly."

Obviously you don't care that much about yourself or you don't have health care.
