Because of the Hemi and the Cummins Diesel.

Regular Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models aren't- in my humble opinion Dodge can't build a decent engine these days (save for Cummins, but Dodge doesnt build the Cummins diesel) and the Hemi is a god awful joke, once you get through the marketing hype anyone would realize this, as several companies have "hemi" engines- not just dodge!

The Dodge Ram SRT-10 is the most powerful production pickup in the world because it has the Viper's 505hp V10 engine, and that's it. Forget all the "Hemi" b.s.- match it with a Vortec Max GM motor and you'll see why. Yeah, it'll spank a hemi.

Dodge claims to have the most powerful truck in the world. So does Ford and chevrolet. The Dodge diesels are pretty good and very powerful. Their frames are the second toughest on the market. Dodge tends to over built and under rates their towing and hauling abilities so they can haul a lot more then they are rated at. Daimler Chrysler has very good PR, and Dodge has always built a tough dependable truck.

That was a statement made by a truly uneducated individual who has never driven a GM product, or towed with a 6.6L Duramax diesel or the Vortec 7.4L. General Motors Corp. owns the market for power and reliability!
